HAPPY NEW ME!

The clock struck midnight, the crowd roared and cheered…

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

One past mid-night, I prayed…

“Thank you God that I’m still here!”

Balloons fell from the air

But the celebration felt low key

More than the year

The moment was about me

Happy New Me….Good bye Fear

Happy New Me…Welcome Cheer

Happy New Me…Good bye Excuses

Happy New Me…Welcome Choices

Happy New Me… Good bye negative voices

Good Bye: Bitterness, Stress, Unforgiveness

Welcome: Love, Joy, Happiness

Good Bye: Worry, Weary, and Hurry

Welcome: Praise, Peace, and Stillness

Father God, create in me the heart that should be

This year I want to celebrate a brand New Me

GREATER THAN

GREATER THAN (>)

God Is Greater Than

Greater than your problems

Greater than your past

Greater than your hurt

Greater than any

relationship that did not last

God is greater than your mistakes

Greater than your sin

Greater than your success

Like 100 Zillion is greater than 10

God is greater than your fears

Greater than your failures

Greater than family and friends

Greater than the devil on his worst behavior

There’s no one equal to Him

From His character nothing that can be subtracted

He’s three in one, with perfect unity

So His will is never divided, all three agree

Before one has ever acted

You may feel less than able

To live life abundantly

But if He has been added to your life

Than say this with me

“Because God lives inside of me

Greater is He that is inside of me

The joy and favor in my life

Is multiplied abundantly”

Speak to your day

As if you were calling a waiter

And place a family size order of

“My Latter Will Be Greater”

THE THING ABOUT FEAR

There is something about fear that fear does not want you to know. Fear needs you. In order to be effective,  fear needs your cooperation. Fear needs your mind to think thoughts that make you worry. Fear needs your heart to make you feel emotions that make you want to give up or refuse to even try. Fear needs your mouth to speak negative things about your future.

Fear needs you, but you don’t need fear. Without your assistance, fear will die. Without fear, you can begin to truly live.

THE WALK

THE WALK

The first step felt strange

A rush of excitement went through me

As I open my mind up to the possibilities

But then I felt a sense of uncertainty

As I heard the voices that cried out to me

“Don’t rock the boat” they said, “You have no idea

What you are getting into

It’s never been done, I wouldn’t try that if I was you”

GO, BE GREAT 3-2-11

GO, BE GREAT

Don’t give up; you were not built for that

Don’t settle, you are better than that

Don’t shrink back, now isn’t the time for that

Don’t cave in, you are greater than that

You are eternity wrapped up in time

And now is the time

To look internally

So that your eternal can shine Read More…

GO, BE GREAT

GO, BE GREAT

Don’t give up; you were not built for that

Don’t settle, you are better than that

Don’t shrink back, now isn’t the time for that

Don’t cave in, you are greater than that

You are eternity wrapped up in time

And now is the time

To look internally

So that your eternal can shine

You are more than you have become

Your calling is higher than what you do

You are expected to achieve greatness

Because great is the God in you

No more just getting by

No more depression clouds

No more half-hearted tries

No wasting minutes allowed

Be as steadfast as the mountain

Yet, as agile as the river

God has filled you with greatness

And He expects you to deliver

Go forth and conquer

Make haste, you are late

The earth eagerly awaits

The display of your great

LIVING WATER:

“For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God. For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope;”

-Romans 8:18-20 NKJV

“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.”

-John 14:12-13 NKJV

POETIC INSIGHT:

There is more to you than you know. Lives will be impacted and circumstances will be changed by you. There are problems that haven’t been solved because you are holding the answer.

No one else can accomplish what you have been called to accomplish. Stop settling for mediocrity and stop flirting with the idea of throwing in the towel. When you accepted Jesus Christ and were filled with the Holy Spirit, you were filled with power. Destiny has called and the world needs you to answer. Go, be great.

WALK OUT THE WORD:

Think of an area in your life that you know you are underachieving in. Make one decision today that will help you achieve greatness in that area.

DO YOU WANT TO GIVE YOUR LIFE TO GOD?

Romans 10:9-10 NKJV™ says:

“that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

This is a suggested prayer for salvation based on Romans 10:9

(Please pray out loud, whispering counts)

Jesus, I believe that you died for my sins and that God raised you from the dead. I ask you to come into my life now as my Lord, Savior, Master, and King.

ACCORDING TO YOUR FAITH

ACCORDING TO YOUR FAITH

Vision impressed upon their souls

You have one chance

To be whole

Go beyond what you cannot see

With eyes malfunctioning

Visualize what is yet to be

Defining moments

Can’t be defined

By circumstance

Purpose, not chance

Blind one, take a glance

Into what is to be

See beyond sight

Faith beyond fright

Go to other side

No matter how bumpy the ride

See, believe,

Believe, See

Faith

Evidence

Word

Guarantee

Future

Your choice

Do you believe what you have been shown?

Or do you believe what you see?

LIVING WATER

“27As Jesus went on from there, two blind men followed him, calling out, “Have mercy on us, Son of David!”

28When he had gone indoors, the blind men came to him, and he asked them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?”
“Yes, Lord,” they replied.

29Then he touched their eyes and said, “According to your faith will it be done to you”; 30and their sight was restored…”

Matthew 9:29-30a NIV

POETIC INSIGHT:

Don’t allow your situations and circumstance to dictate your life. I wrote this poem in 2008 while in Cape Town, South Africa. I went to an AIDS hospital to encourage the patients. I left being inspired and encouraged by a woman named Elizabeth. Her African name being Funiwe. She spoke with such faith, conviction, joy, and peace. GREAT IS HER FAITH! She said, “You come back next year and I won’t be in this place. I believe that I will be healed.” She wasn’t talking about being healed because she would be in heaven, she was talking about being at her home in South Africa with her son Beloved. She had a visual of what she was believing God for. Just like the blind men in the passage above, she has an inner vision that is greater than her circumstances.

WALK OUT THE WORD:

Close your eyes to your surroundings and situations. With your eyes shut allow your inner vision to show you what can and will be. Everything that God has spoken about you already is so in the spirit realm. Your faith will be key in getting those things to manifest into the earth realm. If you have faith for something, that is your evidence that what you are believing for is real.

ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE

ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE

With God:

All things are possible
Nothing is impossible

Possible…All things
Impossible…No thing

God, You are almighty
Almighty are You
God, You are awesome
Father, Your every word is true

God, You are omniscient
Father, You are omnipresent
God, You are omnipotent
On You, there is no limit

Father God, You are with me
And I am with You
According to my faith
Be it unto me
All that You promised to be and do
For I know that Your every word is true
And I believe that with You

All things are possible
Nothing is impossible

Possible…All things
Impossible…No thing

© Demeterius Smith

LIVING WATER:

“But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”  -Matthew 19:26 NKJV™

“Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”  -Mark 9:23 NKJV™

POETIC INSIGHT:

God is not limited by:

my experiences, my past, my failures, my successes, my present, my knowledge, my comprehension, my imagination, my gifts, my family, my connections, my friends, my talents, my understanding, what I have seen, what I have read, or what has happened in some one else’s life.

God is not limited, however, you can limit the move of God in your life by a lack of faith. Take a moment and step back from all the demands of life to remember or discover for the first time that there is no power greater than God and no authority higher than God.

WALK OUT THE WORD:

Get three sheets of paper. On the first sheet write “Characteristics of God”. Under that, write down a word describing something about God’s character such as faithful, holy, or loving. Then find a scripture that talks about that characteristic and write down the scripture. Under the scripture write down a paragraph telling about how God has shown himself to you in that way.

Example:

______________________________________________________________________________________________

Characteristics of God

FORGIVING

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” -1 John 1:9

God is faithful and just even when we are not. God forgave me when I knew I was doing wrong before I did it.

___________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Doing this will help you to get to know God better. On the second sheet write down “I am believing God for:” at the top of the paper. Then write down three things that you want God to do in your life.

Example:

_________________________________________________________________________________________

“I am believing God for:”

1.)    Him to use me to win souls to Christ on my job.

2.)   The resources needed for me to get my college education.

3.)   The willpower to quit smoking.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________

On the third sheet write down “Power Professions”. Under this write out your own professions about your life based off what you have studied about God’s characteristics and based off what you are believing God to do in your life. Then stand and speak your power profession out loud.

Example:

__________________________________________________________________________________________________

“Power Professions”

Today, I profess that with God all things are possible. God is loving and forgiving. God will give me the willpower to quit smoking. God will use this demonstration of His power in my life to win others to Christ.  God will provide me with the resources I need to get my college education. I will be a college graduate. I speak and expect these things in Jesus name.

___________________________________________________________________________________________________________

The things listed above are just examples. On all three sheets make what you write down relevant and meaningful to you. Continue to speak daily what you have written down. Also, you will have to make practical changes necessary to achieve what you are professing. For example, if someone made the profession to quit smoking, than that person shouldn’t sit in the smoking section of a restaurant and that person should make it a point not to buy any more packs. A person professing for resources to go to college should start looking for scholarships. Be patient and don’t give up. Things will happen according to God’s timing. Keep speaking and keep taking practical steps towards your profession.

WOULD YOU LIKE TO RECEIVE THE LOVE OF JESUS CHRIST?

Examine your life. What or who are you worshiping? If money, ministry, reputation, family, career, sports, fun, food, friends, sex, entertainment or anything/anyone other than God is ruling your life, then it is time to throw a coup and return the throne of your heart to its rightful King, Jesus Christ.   Romans 10:9-10 NKJV™ says:

“that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

The following is a suggested prayer for salvation based on Romans 10:9

(Please pray out loud, whispering counts)

Jesus, I believe that you died for my sins and that God raised you from the dead. I ask you to come into my life now as my Lord, Savior, Master, and King.
