FLITE’s Bio

Meet Demeterius:

Rev. Demeterius “FLITE” Smith is a man of example who loves the Word of God and believes its careful use produces good fruit in the life of the believer. Born in the rural community of Dorchester, SC, Demeterius’s early years were infused with the small town values of hard work, the importance of family and the necessity of keeping one’s word.

Now, with 10 years as a licensed and ordained minister, and four years in cyber ministry, Demeterius continues to help believers use their words as seed to produce a desirable life’s harvest. In 2005, he founded “Flow With FLITE”, a weekly online ministry where he uses his gift of poetry to creatively teach the word of God. That ministry continues today as “Faith Flow”. Believers are regularly challenged to bring their thoughts and words in line with biblical truth.

Demeterius’s first book, “Strength 2 Shine”, was written in 2002 and is a compilation of his poetic works. He is co-founder of Life Lovers Proclamations and Publications, which promises to be a full-service, Christ-centered publishing company. The Lovely Hill Baptist Association licensed Demeterius in 1998, and ordained him in 1999. In 2007, he received ordination from Redemption Ministerial Fellowship International, a global ministry of Redemption World Outreach Center in Greenville, SC.

Demeterius is an investor in the lives of youth. He recently ministered to children in Cape Town, South Africa, and participates with Operation GO!, a weekly inner city youth evangelism in Greenville. His unique delivery of the word of God helps youth understand its practical application in their daily lives and gives them a call to action in their daily lifestyle. Demeterius’s daily work is in student services. He lives among and helps to lead nearly 250 gifted students at a residential high school for the arts. Demeterius is a 2002 graduate of Clemson University, where he earned his degree in business. He shares his life with his wife, Deneshia, who also has a heart for ministry and knows the power of the spoken word. They make their home in Greenville, South Carolina.
